Bicipital tendonitis is common in throwing athletes. The symptoms are very similar in appearance to impingement syndrome and the two conditions are often confused. Bicipital tendonitis is due to inflammation of the long head of the bicep at its insertion into the scapular. The client complains of pain with overhead movement and elbow flexion greater than 90 degrees. The symptoms include radiating pain, muscle spasms, weakness and loss of grip strength.
